Eine der ältesten Kirchen in Hamburg. Gründungsbau aus Holz aus demf rühen 9. Jh. Gegen Ende des 11. Jh. Feldsteinbau in der hier ungewöhnlichen Form einer Basilika errichtet. davon u.a. vermauerte Arkaden an der Nordseite sichtbar. Grundlegende Umbauten um 1400, im 17. Jh. sowie 1907.

This is one of Hamburg's oldest churches, dating back to the ealry 9th c. In the 11th c. a fieldstone church was erected here in the shape of a basilica. Facing north, now enclosed with fieldstones, the former arcades are still visible. Major modifications around 1400, in the 17th c. and again in 1907.
